Half Tone Paper Cuts

Hey there,

Good to see you all again with another paper cut post. This post is a little close to my heart as I had been dying to do this type of paper cut even before I started with paper cutting.

Half tone paper cuts – the first time I saw this (then did not know what this type of paper cut was named), I knew I had to do this, come what may. But I hadn’t started on paper cutting and did not know anything about this type of cutting.

A few months into paper cutting and after getting the hang of it, I decided to get started with simple forms of half tone. I and my friend, Aarthi (who generally works in parallel with me on any new art/craft form), did not know how to get the lines(the vertical ones) on half tones. So we manually added lines to our simple designs. A print out taken and lo behold there I was doing my first half tone paper cut!

Test Cuts

Hey there,

I am back with yet another post related to paper cut. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I used free templates by various paper cut designers to hone my paper cutting skills. With many more templates to go, I decided to draw my own designs.

Before I could give that a start, my dear friend had a template of hers ready and wanted me to be a test cutter (where one cuts the template designed by the other and finds any error(s) before the template is given out to the world). I decided to jump on the band wagon to become her first test cutter. A simple design requiring a quick test cut. But the lazy person that I am, I took two days (not full ones) to finish it up and send her the image of the paper cut.
